Cashier/Receptionist

JOB TITLE: Dispensary Receptionist & Checkout 

LOCATION: Utica, NY

REPORTS TO: Dispensary Manager/Assistant Manager

JOB TYPE: Full time & Part time

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and welcome clients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.

  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area.

  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls, take messages and provide information as needed. Review and respond to incoming emails as necessary.

  • Register clients and verify their identification. Verify customers are at least 21 years of age.

  • Checkout and fulfill customer orders using Point-of-Sale (POS) system.

  • Provide information about products, pricing, and current promotions.

  • Educate clients about responsible cannabis consumption and relevant regulations.

  • Monitor customer traffic and manage customer flow to ensure a positive and safe experience.

  • Maintain knowledge of current strains, products, and trends in the cannabis industry.

  • Comply with state regulations and company policies regarding security, health, and safety.

  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a smooth and efficient dispensary operation.

  • Handle client concerns and escalate issues to management when necessary.

  • Other related tasks as necessary

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry and regulatory compliance.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with partners, vendors, and colleagues.

  • Highest level of integrity and strong work ethic

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends

  • High school diploma or GED

  • Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role.

  • Knowledge of the cannabis industry and products (strongly preferred).

  • Proficient in using point-of-sale (POS) systems.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Adherence to confidentiality and safety protocols.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
